Why are legal and market requirements increasing globaly?

Legal and market requirements within the plumbing industry are increasing globally due to a combination of factors related to health, environment, energy efficiency, safety, and technological development. These requirements are designed to meet the expectations and needs of society.

What is the difference between legal requirements and market requirements?

A legal requirement is something legally binding and established by an authority to regulate our society, whereas a market requirement is not legally binding but is based on a business need and specific choices or demands from various stakeholders. The Planning and Building Act (PBL) is an example of a law in Sweden that regulates how we should construct and renovate buildings that affect the environment and people in Sweden. Both legal and market requirements are something we need to be aware of to meet both current and future demands, and above all, to deliver a product or service that is useful for many years to come.

How does the FMM 9000XE series meet current legal and market requirements?

The 9000XE series is type-approved by RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden), ensuring that the products comply with the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building, and Planning regulations (PBL, Planning and Building Act) regarding both function and health for installation in buildings in Sweden.

With the 9000XE series, we also meet the most common requirements currently sought after in environmental certifications of buildings. By this, I mean that the new products have smart, innovative energy-saving features and customized water flows contributing to the best possible energy classification when certified by RISE. These attributes, combined with conscious material choices, ensure that the products meet the requirements for environmental certification of buildings according to standards such as Miljöbyggnad, Svanen, BREEAM, and LEED.

To transparently convey knowledge and facts regarding the climate footprint of our products from a life cycle perspective, we have also chosen to provide environmental product declarations (EPDs) according to the international EPD system. These declarations are verified by independent certified auditors to ensure that the reporting is objective and complies with international standards.

Furthermore, the product series is based on FM Mattsson's proven solutions and market-leading technology, such as soft closing, ceramic sealing, and the pressure-balanced thermostat function, ensuring excellent user comfort and products with a long lifespan.
