EU Taxonomy
The EU Taxonomy is part of the EU's Green Growth Strategy, known as the EU’s Green Deal. It serves as a tool for investors in transitioning to a green economy that aligns with the Paris Agreement and the EU's goal of climate neutrality by 2050.
The Taxonomy helps investors classify what is sustainable and what is not, through criteria for essential economic activities in the most emissions-intensive industries in the EU.
The EU Taxonomy also covers the construction sector, including the construction of new buildings as well as the renovation of existing ones. It also encompasses the installation, maintenance, and repair of energy-efficient equipment for tap water systems in buildings.
The legal requirement involves the obligation for the builder to report on the percentage of products in the building that meet the requirements of the EU Taxonomy for an entire building. In the detailed requirements of the EU Taxonomy, concerning our types of products for tap water, there are conditions for maximum water flow. We offer our customers a large number of products with customized flows, which are crucial when declaring whether the building's tap water installations meet the flow requirements.
To meet the requirements of the EU Taxonomy, the following flows apply:
- Kitchen faucets: Maximum flow of 6 liters per minute at a pressure of 3 bar
- Washbasin faucets: Maximum flow of 6 liters per minute at a pressure of 3 bar
- Showers: Maximum flow of 8 liters per minute at a pressure of 3 bar
The regulation is to be applied from January 1, 2022.
