Energy labeling

The energy labeling of tap water fixtures, according to the Swedish SIS-standardized system, is of the same type as that used for household appliances. The product is assessed based on its energy efficiency and classified on a scale from A to G. The former is the best possible classification, and the latter is the worst. Together with the Energy Authority, KIWA, and other industry stakeholders, FM Mattsson has been involved in developing two standards for the energy labeling of faucets - one for single-handle faucets (kitchen and laundry) and one for shower systems.

The energy classification is calculated not only based on flow and energy consumption but also takes into account user comfort. The purpose of the system is to provide impartial assistance to purchasers, installers, climate advisors, consumers, etc., in choosing energy-efficient tap water fixtures. Products with a good energy class can contribute points for environmental certification of buildings, such as Miljöbyggnad and Svanen.

A household can save up to 40 percent of hot water energy consumption by installing energy-efficient tap water fixtures. Field trials and laboratory tests have shown significant differences in energy consumption between different brands and models of tap water fixtures.

For this reason, FM Mattsson places a strong emphasis on energy efficiency and already offers a wide range of energy-labeled products with the best possible energy classification.
